Empathy Children’s App
Empathy is a complex subject for younger children and can be difficult for adults to teach about. My app/website allows children to learn about empathy on their own with accessibility considerations for children of all disabilities and learning styles. My goal was to make a design that teaches children about empathy in an engaging and age appropriate way. This product offers lessons/exercises/quizzes to help educate kids on empathy, supported on all devices. It is meant to be intuitive for children to use without the help of an adult.
Understanding the User
I created a persona from characteristics of users from our target user group. This persona helped me to better understand our users and their pain points they experience when using the empathy app and website.
These user pain points helped me to create my research questions and allowed me to iterate on my wireframes.
Competitive Audit
I completed a competitive audit of five competitors products, both direct and indirect. This gave me the insight to know what worked for users and where competitors' products were lacking.
Affinity Diagram and Insights
I created an affinity diagram with the feedback I received on my first wireframes. I organized the information into themes that I then used to identify insights. I used those insights to help me iterate on my designs.

Accessibility Considerations
These were some of the accessibility considerations I took into account when designing.
